Normally, if I shopped like this, I'd be eating ramen for a month. But, um, hi - this is billion dollar babes. It was almost like I couldn't afford NOT to buy all the cute clothes!
As I mentioned, there were racks and racks of designer styles at discount prices. From leather handbags to tables of jewelry, it was hard to not want it all.
But somehow - BARELY - I managed to find just a few great pieces that were happy to come home with me and take up residence in my favorite room in the house: My Closet. Take a look:
Thank god for new-found friends in the dressing room. I was a little hesitant about this Eva Franco dress, until the woman next to me insisted I had to buy it. It's just sparkly enough, and hugs my curves in all the right places. Now someone needs to invite me out ASAP so I have a reason to wear it. (Or I may very well just wear it to work; after all, if you're over dressed, you can ALWAYS just say you have a party to attend later.)
I'm sort of in love with this little strapless number... It's ethereal and sexy, with a perfectly preppy-chic grosgrain ribbon sash. Sigh... And I'm also really in love with the fact that it didn't break the bank.
Finally, my favorite find of the day...
This Sikara ring, inspired by modern Indian design and part of Sikara's Jaipuri Collection. I am obsessed with this ring. LOVE IT. Don't want to take it off. And, frankly, don't see why I ever should! (Not sure why I have a navy blue manicure right now; please don't judge. I thought it was a good idea at the time.)
Missed the SF billion dollar babes event? No worries... There are more events coming up. Get the full schedule at www.billiondollarbabes.com - You can thank me later. (Maybe with an accessory from the bdb sample sale!)
Lucky, lucky me! I was able to attend the shopping event of the season in SF: billion dollar babes, the to-die-for sample sale that travels around to NYC, LA, SF, Chicago, and London, amongst other places.
Now, no one is going to debate me if I say that the last thing I need is more clothes, except... well, I also think no one is going to argue that "needing" more clothes is SO not the point. Especially when there are discounts up to 80% involved. Yeah, that's right. I said up to 80%. Amazing.
I'd never been to this event before, but I read up on it and I was fully prepared - from head to toe. I wore comfy ballet flats, and a shift dress (easy to get on and off for the maximum clothes-trying-on experience). The dressing rooms are communal, so if you ever do attend this event, you may want to consider donning your finest undergarments. Although, let's be honest. No one's looking at anything except themselves in potential-new-outfits in the mirror.
Every event carries different designers, and the SF event did not disappoint. From tibi to Dolce and Gabbana to See by Chloe to T-bags...
there was something for everyone. Party dresses, sweater dresses, day dresses... Winter coats, cropped jackets, classic trenches. Cashmere sweaters, sexy tops, and everything in between. Um, can you say HEAVEN?While I didn't love everything at the sample sale (um, pink bag? Nokay.), overall it was hard to resist the wares... Stay tuned for pics of my purchases!
